Proverbs E20 - What I Need From You Is Understanding

On this podcast episode, Yemi and Philia discuss the importance of becoming more tolerant (Proverbs 19:11; 24:11-12; 28:21; 29:7; 30: 11-14).  God calls us to be tolerant of others.  We are no better than anyone else and we do not have the right to judge others.  Additionally, we are all different and that is through the glory of God.  There is beauty in our differences.    Tolerance is meeting people where they are, it is empathy, it is compassion, it is grace.  It is accepting that other people are different from you and that is okay.  When God commanded us to love our neighbors it was not conditioned on our neighbors being acceptable in ours opinion. It was a call to love, full stop and period.  How much more joyous and fulfilling would our lives be if we were more tolerant and opened our hearts more freely.  This is not to say that people do not fall short or will not disappoint you, they do as we do. It's to say we love despite perceived shortcomings.  We extend grace and we pray for our neighbors.  That is love.
