Proverbs E14 - The Lion, The Witch and The Lazy Bones
On this podcast episode, Yemi and Philia discuss the importance of fighting against laziness (Proverbs 12:24/ 12:27/ 13:4/ 15:19/ 18:9/ 19:15/ 22:13/ 26:13-16). We are taught that there is nothing to gain from laziness and much to gain from being diligent. "The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the diligent is made fat" Proverbs 13:4. Characteristics of the lazy are (1) trouble getting started, (2) restless (having desires and having trouble implementing them), (3) taking a costly toll on others, (4) being defensive, (5) being a quitter, and (6) living by excuses. We have all manifested one or a few of these characteristics in some area of our lives. We should not get hung up on these things, instead we should work to overcome them. The goal is to propel ourselves into motion to accomplish great things. We have the desires, we just need the motivation. Lets ask God to help us with our desires and motivations so that we are not stuck in nothingness, deceived into self doubt and laziness and ultimately eaten by the lion.
