As For Me And My Household ...

The Parable of the Master of a Household is found in Matthew 13:51-52.  In this parable Jesus explains that a person who has acquired knowledge of the kingdom of heaven is the master of his household that brings out new and old treasures. Meaning that there is so much for this person to offer to the people of their household and their guests. The old treasures may be the experiences you had, your personality, and/or your talents, and the new treasures is the knowledge you have acquired about the kingdom of God. A good master knows how to marry the two, as needed, and to teach all that comes into their household about transformation under the kingdom of God. God takes all of us as we come. Some things we need to set aside completely, but some things we can apply the principles of the kingdom of God and then we not only use it as our testimony but we use it as a gift to God. Maybe there is something God saved you from or helped you overcome, wouldn't you share that testimony with others to help them understand the goodness of God? What about your gifts, talents and abilities? Do you hide them or would you not share them in accordance with the word and let it be a blessing to God and his people? Let us really examine our lives and take stock of the old treasures and new treasures we have and let us lay it out before others, before God, and share our love for God with the world. It is our duty to be a walking, living, breathing testimony of God's love and grace. Extend it to everyone in your household, show them how God has used you, used the parts of you that were adopted of this world, and transformed them/you to become new kingdomly treasures. After you share with those in your household, share with others you encounter, show them God makes all things new. Teach them that there is healing, transformation and blessings if you just believe and follow God.
